We are stABILITY
A South Dorset-based day & overnight care service supporting adults with learning disabilities. We work closely with Dorset Council and offer both daytime support as well as respite care, focusing on the promotion & development of independence.
We like to keep busy and have fun with our Member-chosen daily activities & events!
We offer a safe, person-centred place for adults to grow, connect and thrive as part of the community.

stABILITY is lucky to have a fantastic group of friendly and experienced staff whose passion is to offer individual, tailored support to adults to help them achieve their goals and ambitions. We believe this support gives adults a sense of belonging and helps them to live life their way.
Our diverse and inclusive group of incredible Members are very welcoming and love to meet new people!
Some of our activities include -
Developing Independent-Living Skills, Cooking, Swimming, Sports, Art & Craft, Gardening, Shopping, Money & Travel Skills, Day Trips across Dorset... and more!

We are a values-led provision that works with families and professionals to hold high standards of care. Our ethos is simple.

"Our son has Autism and went through Special Education. He has functional language and a profound need for predictability. However, if the umbrella of support is good, he embodies the idea that 'Autism is development delayed, not denied'.
stABILITY provides him with a supportive, safe and caring umbrella and he is thriving.
He wants to be there, he has friends and they do exciting activities. He is increasingly involved in his own care when he stays overnight. He happily helps with meal-planning, shopping, cooking, washing-up and laundry. He will now eat a variety of foods we never thought he would.
At stABILITY he is happy, engaged, valued, cared-for and, importantly, challenged to continue developing his independence and social skills. As his parents, we couldn't be happier that he has found his tribe and is regarded with genuine affection by these lovely people!"

"As a parent of a young man with Autism, now in his 3rd year with stABILITY, we started slowly with one night a week of respite, then two nights in his second year, and now three nights a week.
He has grown and matured beyond our expectations through developing independence away from home.
This provision supersedes any other and should be a role model for others to follow. Without stABILITY, this would not have been possible."
